Biography:
After a three-month stint with the firm in 2010, Jay Pearlman joined Marie A. Mattox, P.A. in January of 2011. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from Harvard College, and a law degree from New York University. Admitted to practice in Ohio, New York, and the Northern District of Ohio, a long-time insurance coverage, appellate, and insurance defense lawyer in those states, and also a CPA, Mr. Pearlman was admitted to practice in the Northern District of Florida in 2010, and in Florida's state courts in 2018. Having developed expertise in federal and state law governing employment and civil rights, Mr. Pearlman's practice largely consists of the preparation of complex litigation papers for trial and appellate courts.

Mr. Pearlman is a former college basketball coach, and a former college basketball broadcaster. He lives in Tallahassee with his wife Brenda and their three dogs. The Pearlmans are big fans of country music, of the New York Mets, and of University of Georgia football. They are also season ticket holders for Florida State University football, and members of the Seminole Boosters.
